Position Focus:

This position supports and reports to the Senior Director of Development and Alumni Affairs at the Yale School of Public Health. Will provide all manner of administrative support, process gifts, prepare stewardship reports, draft correspondence, assist in the preparation of briefings and reports, maintain donor database and prepare reports, manipulate data in Excel, support alumni relations initiatives and take the lead on special projects.

Essential Duties call for candidate to:

Draft a variety of written materials, including external correspondence that conforms to the style and voice of the sender.

Coordinate research on individual donors and the history and status of gift commitments as needed by gift officers and other University officials. Ensure the accuracy of gift acknowledgments and all information communicated to donors and prospects.

Prepare reports on prospect pools summarizing giving, status, affiliation and other data points, as needed.

Assist in the coordination of special events, including dedications, donor recognition events and celebration of special initiatives to ensure timely and successful completion of the proceedings.

Design and produce ad hoc reports based on data extracted from primary databases to support fundraising programs.

Oversee stewardship functions to ensure that donors receive ongoing communication regarding the benefits of their gifts to Yale.

Support fundraising directors and gift officers in a range of additional activities related to the Universitys development effort, as needed.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Prepares reports on prospect pools summarizing giving, status, affiliation and other data points, as needed. 4. Assists in the coordination of special events, including dedications, donor recognition events and celebration of special initiatives to ensure timely and successful completion of the proceedings. 5. Designs and produces ad hoc reports based on data extracted from primary databases to support fund raising programs. 6. Oversees stewardship functions to ensure that donors receive ongoing communication regarding the benefits of their gifts to Yale. 7. Supports fundraising directors and gift officers in a range of additional activities related to the Universitys development effort, as needed. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Excellent computer skills particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint including mail merge, data sorting, data manipulation, complex data extractions.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Writing sample will be requested at time of interview. Demonstrated ability to compose original correspondence, memos and reports.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong sense of responsiveness to internal and external requests and needs. Ability to work effectively with all levels and diverse populations, and handle confidential information regarding donors, prospects and gifts with utmost discretion.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Proven record in conducting research, synthesizing material and providing well-polished written summaries.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with self-motivation and sound judgment.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree. Experience in Blackbaud eCRM (Hopper) software application. Experience with formulas, charts, graphs and presentations with Excel.
