Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.
The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Responsible for providing oversight and monitoring of risk-based compliance programs designed to drive compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory and/or Corporate Policy requirements. May be involved in developing and overseeing standards to effectively identify, assess and manage compliance risk; provides subject matter expertise and maintains an appropriate level of business and functional knowledge. Works with fairly complex business units, rules and regulations or moderate to high risk compliance matters; provides compliance risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate to high risk for a business line or functional area. May be involved in monitoring the reporting, escalation, and timely remediation of issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters regarding compliance risk management. May be involved in developing compliance testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls and identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinations. May provide direction to the business on developing corrective action plans and effectively managing regulatory change. Reports findings and recommendations to senior management and to appropriate committees. May be involved in identifying compliance training and awareness needs or the development, delivery and administration of training and awareness content. May lead project teams and may provide guidance to less experienced consultants.
The Financial Crimes team is responsible for implementing and maintaining an effective financial crimes program for the company that complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations including Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorist Financing, Global Sanctions and Fraud within certain parameters.
Prepares appropriate documentation and reporting to government agencies and management. Informs peers, line of business and other external
partners on findings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Working with complex business units and providing compliance risk expertise for inherent risk assessments and compliance programs
  • Reviewing results of review activities, audits, and exams for assigned lines of business to determine control effectiveness and residual risk
  • Assisting with the annual aggregation of FCRM risks for the Company
  • Work closely with groups within FCRM, Financial Crimes Control Leaders and their teams, audit, and the law department to achieve common goals.
  • Creating and preparing periodic reports from SHRP Business Profile Management, FCRM Risk Assessment, and Issues Management tools.
  • Maintaining schedules and assisting with the annual aggregation of risk for the Company.
  • Creating and maintaining internal training, procedures, templates and tools.
  • Subject matter expert for the SHRP AML Inherent Risk Assessment tool and the two internal control effectiveness rating and residual risk calculator and reporting tools.
  • Manage access requests for the AML and ABC Inherent Risk Assessment tool.
  • Manage Risk Assessment Team Public and Private landing pages.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with BSA/AML/OFAC laws and regulations
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 5+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Other Desired Qualifications

  • AML and/or Global Sanctions compliance risk assessment or management experience
  • 2+ years' experience with regulatory compliance risk assessment or compliance program evaluation.
  • Understanding of Financial Crimes Risk Management risks and controls
  • Understanding of Wells Fargo's Financial Crimes risk assessment processes
  • Strong working knowledge of using Wells Fargo's internal risk mgmt. SHRP tools, such as the FCRM Calculator, Issues Mgmt., Governance Mgmt. Review Activities etc.
  • Understanding of Regulatory Compliance Risk Management risks and controls
  • CAMS certification or WFAMSC credentials
  • Experience using SHRP tools, Issues Management, Governance, FCRM Risk Assessment
  • Experience Testing systems (SIT, UAT) Writing and employing test scripts, issue escalation and resolution (PAK2000)
  • Experience with reporting (exceptional excel skills, exceptional Power Point skills, experience with Tableau or other data management reporting tools.
  • Weekends may be required several times a year for production checkout testing.
