Tracks, reports and analyzes quality related losses of functional areas of the Distribution Center – Receiving, Order Filling and Shipping – as well as quality opportunities inbound/outbound related.
Executes quality based focused improvement initiatives. Accelerates and helps to implement key components of the Quality Management System program including but not limited to: process deviations, defects, statistical process control, document control, supplier based corrective actions, etc.
Owns the Root Cause Analysis and countermeasure implementation process linked to overall key performance indicators by shift, by day, by week and by month.
Supports work streams of projects by identifying areas of opportunity; determining proper procedures and guidelines; demonstrating and communicating working knowledge of industry best practices and Walmart policies and procedures in business area of expertise.
Demonstrates the ability to translate technical solutions into business solutions; supporting the development of quality standards; and ensures that processes consistently meet established customer requirement-based quality standards.
Provides and supports the implementation of quality related process improvements by building relationships and partnerships with front line associates to General Manager to Home Office support. Influences step changes in quality related performance from suppliers, across the facility and to the stores. Communicates cross functionally with Operational Leadership in the Distribution Center as well as core teams such as Central Operations and RDC Operations.
Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field OR 2 years’ experience in Quality management, project management, business strategy, or related area.
Knowledge and application of TPM, Quality Excellence programs and Lean Principles.
Advanced MS Excel, problem solving and analytical skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
3 years’ experience or Co-Op/Internship in manufacturing, distribution or similar field with demonstrated results from applying root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
