Select Medical is seeking highly motivated and curious individuals for its Information Systems Team to work with the latest technologies. The Systems Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, developing, evaluating, testing, and integrating the organization's systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software. This role provides in-depth vision for all systems as well as future state infrastructure evolution; is aware of industry leading best practices and helps the teams keep abreast of the same. The Systems Engineer also considers competing priorities and proposes alternate solutions, test and quality plan based on business and technical requirements. This role will focus on modernizing disaster recovery as well as automation of virtualized infrastructure.


One of the primary responsibilities will be managing, designing, implementing, and maintenance of the VMware IT infrastructure.
Provide research and analysis for planning, organizing, and managing project related IT Systems tasks.
This individual must display an in-depth understanding of the latest trends and technologies related to IT Systems and technology.
Manage/Maintain vRealize Automation deployment.
Manage/Maintain vRealize Operations deployment.
Perform the lead role in Virtual Datacenter Disaster Recovery Modernization.
Manage virtual environments and previously built cluster(s).
Build VM clusters to include installing VMware and Virtual Machines (VMs).
Manage and/or implement High Availability architectures in a VMware environment.
Analyze virtual server resource consumption and recommend resource reclamation plans.
Provide engineering design and support for IT systems.
Possess a high degree of integrity and trust along with the ability to work independently.
Establish collaborative working relationships with business units and IT coworkers to ensure IT systems enable the business and provide a scalable environment.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills with strong ability to balance differing stakeholder interests through sound analysis and persuasion.
Instill a sense of urgency in driving assignments to completion.
Take responsibility for researching and providing input to Information Systems strategies.
Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
Be flexible, organized, proactive and motivated.


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent education and experience.
Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
8 plus years of system administration.
3 plus years of infrastructure design experience.

Experience in Data Center Strategies and IT Operations best practices.
Experience with automation and orchestration.
Experience with VMWare's vRealize suite of products.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, Domain design, implementation, and enterprise management.
Advanced knowledge of server operating systems (Windows/Linux).
Strong working knowledge of LAN\WAN infrastructure.
Experience with scripting languages.
Advanced working knowledge of client server systems with a focus on Windows & Linux.
Experience with hardware support and maintenance.
Advanced knowledge of VMware ESX current versions.
Strong understanding of SAN and vSAN architecture and technology as it relates to virtualization.
Experience with Disaster Recovery technologies and solutions.
