Rubirosa Pizza & Ristorante is looking for an EXECUTIVE CHEF to join our team.

Rubirosa is a nine-year old restaurant with a family restaurant history dating back 60 years in NYC. We are a neighborhood family-owned restaurant specializing our thin crust pizza recipe as well as updated versions of Italian-American classics.


Ideal candidate will be have experience in managing a high volume Italian kitchen and be excited to work in a true family atmosphere with amazing staff, regulars and the ability to truly have a voice / culinary creativity within the Rubirosa concept.


This is for a long-term candidate looking to develop with a company/restaurant family. This position has tremendous opportunities for growth !

Strong Italian Foundation with Pasta/Pizza skills is required


DOH : maintains a DOH compliant kitchen at all times.

Pro-Active Mindset - Ability to problem solve quickly and communicate efficiently with other members of staff before and during service

Communication: Ability to present challenges, issues to BOH management and work with constructive feedback (ie: not a lone wolf)

Staff Development: Experience in staff coaching and training to ensure new and existing team members' success, and communication with Executive Chef to solve any HR-related issues.

Strong Line Skills: Regularly work the line and be able to step into any station when needed to lead the team to success


Culinary Creativity: Create weekly specials that align our Rubirosa concept

Kitchen Admin: Ability to write recipes, cost out dishes, and implementing new menu items with ease

Ordering: Ability to order strategically, price competitive with quality product and maintain a appropriate inventory

Scheduling: Weekly scheduling of the entire kitchen with a smart outlook on labor

Staffing: Ability to coach the team to let each invididual excel in there individual stations


The fine print:

Must have a NYC DOH food protection certificate

Five years Kitchen MGMT with at leave 2 years EXEC CHEF experience - High Volume

Italian / Pizza experience is preferred

Conversational Spanish is a plus!
