We are responsible for creating innovative technology solutions for the Private Banking Group (Client), one of the strategic growth areas of the Firm, providing cash management and lending products and services to our WM clients. This includes state-of-the-art technology for a nationwide network of Private Bankers and product specialists who work with Financial Advisors to provide access to products and services such as online banking, cards, deposit products, residential mortgages, securities-based loans and tailored lending. If you are an exceptional individual who is interested in solving complex problems and building sophisticated solutions in a dynamic team environment, GBT is the place for you.Position Description This position is part of the Wealth Management Technology organization and focuses on support for the client's two US Banks, client Bank, N.A. (MSBNA) and client Private Bank, National Association (MSPBNA). These banks are independent national banks and wholly-owned subsidiaries of the client. Through their national bank charters and ability to attract stable insured deposits, the Banks represent valuable franchise-enhancing strategic assets to the Firm. The Banks are chartered by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and regulated by the OCC, Client Board (FRB), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The vision of MSBNA is to become a leading commercial bank by growing its institutional lending and trading businesses. The vision of MSPBNA is to become a leading bank for the Firm's Wealth management clients who seek lending and deposit products. Both Banks pursue these goals in a manner that is consistent with their defined risk appetites. The US Banks Technology team is responsible for supporting Bank business and growth by managing the provision of technology within a regulatory-compliant, risk-managed framework in a cost effective manner. The team is seeking a financial analyst to monitor technology charges to the Banks, ensure that they are appropriate and within expectations, and present financial results to senior management as per regulatory requirements.Job Responsibilities Prepare materials and present financial results, including comparison of actuals vs. year-to-date and full-year forecast, month over month variance and key expense drivers, to senior BU and IT management at various monthly and quarterly governance forums Work with Bank legal entity controllers to review monthly technology charges and resolve any discrepancies or invalid charges Prepare financial analysis and reconciliation for quarterly affiliate service review meetings Establish and maintain the financial budget and forecast for the US Banks Technology team based on staffing expectations for the year Present the proposed technology budget to senior BU and IT management during the annual budget cycle Provide commentary and IT financials on the Banks' annual 3-year strategic planning exercise Develop an understanding of the Banks' business models and familiarity with services provided by the internal affiliate technology organization, as well as familiarity with active technology programs and their impact to each of the Banks Anticipate financial impact of pending business events and changes to business strategy Provide financial data for relevant regulatory or audit requests, including quarterly OCC metrics and Recovery and Resolution Plan EducationalSkills Required Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Economics, or Finance Five to ten years of experience in financial services or banking technology Experience with financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, expense management, accruals, depreciation, and software capitalization Good understanding of cost accounting concepts High level of attention to detail and precision Strong analytic and problem solving skills Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills Strong leadership, coordination and facilitation skills Good interpersonal skills, with an ability to navigate complex organizations and build relationships High level of proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and PowerPoint, and knowledge of SharePoint Ability to work independently and meet milestones and deadlinesSkills Desired Knowledge of banking products and bank regulatory environment Knowledge of project management methodologies and technology processes
