Role DescriptionSpend an exciting summer working with a New York Life Strategic Insurance Business in Leawood, KS! Institutional Life (IL) is an end-to-end strategic insurance business offering sophisticated life insurance products in the Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI), Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI) and Corporate Sponsored markets, designed to support highly compensated executives and professionals. Institutional Life is seeking a motivated business analyst intern who is ready to apply knowledge of business practices and processes in a fast-paced, real-world environment. The intern will assist in writing reports, conducting research, analyzing data, and making recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency. This will be a valuable experience for any student pursuing a career in business administration. Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze business goals, objectives, and needsHelp plan and design business processes and make recommendations for improvementPerform research and analysis in support of operationsAssist in resolving business issues using systems and dataEstimate costs and benefits of multiple actions and/or solutions and provide recommendationsHelp launch new initiativesMay perform additional projects upon request Key AccomplishmentsThroughout the summer, the intern will gain an understanding of the life insurance industry, a basic understanding of the BOLI and COLI product lines, and how the products serve their unique market needs. The intern will learn how each area of IL COLI and BOLI impacts these product lines, and how the Service for this business is managed.
