Provide day-to-day management oversight to ensure complete and accurate pricing functions and creation of unitized NAVs for custom model. Maintain and monitor automated evening trading function. Assist the Valuations team with Fair Value tracking and reporting, including valuations of alternative investments within collective investment trusts. Ensure adequacy of internal control procedures and strict adherence to all internal procedures. Act as a primary contact for Director and VP of department.

Essential functions for this r ole include:

  • Manage the Fund Accounting Department (supervision, staffing, and administration).
  • Monitor and refine daily procedures and checklists to ensure most appropriate levels of control and efficiency.
  • Ensure multi-level review of all key daily and monthly procedures.
  • Provide management oversight of the daily pricing function to ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all of the production.
  • Provide management oversight of the automated evening trading function including manual back-up processes.
  • Participate in new product design and implementation.
  • Coach and develop associates through regular feedback sessions and long-term planning
  • Ensure a cohesive team culture, managing difficulties of geographically dispersed staff
  • Ensure that appropriate staff levels are maintained to complete daily tasks
  • Act as liaison between the Pricing group and other departments within the organization, including but not limited to, fund line up services, financial operations, legal, and internal audit.
  • Primary contact for price vendors, trading partners, and outside mutual fund companies to retrieve daily prices, confirm share balances, and communicate any other necessary information.
  • Advanced experience in the areas of financial services, recordkeeping, mutual fund accounting, fair valuation, investment products, and investment operations.
  • May require non-standard work hours
  • Assist with the daily support of the Valuation Committee including but not limited to: Logging and tracking of issues to be considered by the Committee.Schedule Committee meetings record the proceedings and prepare meeting minutes.Prepare communications with Custodian regarding fair value issues.File electronic and paper documentation relative to each fair value issue.Monitor news for significant events that may affect valuation of underlying alternative assetsReview account and financial statements from investment managers and or General Partners
  • If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience; MBA Preferred; CFA Candidate a plus
  • 5-7 years experience; 1-3 years of overall supervisory/management experience
  • Strong knowledge of mutual fund accounting
  • Strong team-building and motivational skills
  • Strong process management skills
  • Good general knowledge of mutual fund operations
  • Strong working knowledge of and advanced skills in spreadsheets especially Excel; knowledge of Access database
  • Advanced knowledge of securities, financial markets, and financial modeling preferred
  • Knowledge of valuation techniques including discounted cash flow, market multiples, etc. preferred
  • Knowledge of alternative investment types and characteristics including private equity, real estate, and distressed debt preferred
