Position Summary:   The Vice-President, Human Resources, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for providing leadership in developing and executing the company’s human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction, specifically in the areas of employee and labor relations, compensation, organizational and performance management, recruitment, succession planning, training and development. This position will provide strategic and tactical human resource services to the eight hundred plus employees of Heaven Hill Inc. and its US and international subsidiaries. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, and in strong partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice-President of Human Resources will serve as the strategic advisor on global Human Resource initiatives. Role Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field with (SPHR) Senior Professional in Human Resource certification; Master’s Degree preferred Global Human Resource executive with a minimum of 10 -15 years’ experience, gained through increasingly responsible management positions within Human Resources, a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior-level human resources position Proven ability to set the Human Resource vision for an organization and develop an actionable plan to execute within a rapidly growing organization Position Responsibilities: Provide overall leadership and direction to Human Resource function by overseeing talent acquisition, retention, career development, succession planning, training and leadership development, performance and compensation management, employee and labor relations, payroll and benefits Lead the implementation and execution of Heaven’s Hill’s strategic goal to enhance employee effectiveness Develop, implement and oversee comprehensive compensation programs to ensure regulatory compliance, competitive salary levels, strategic corporate fit and cost effectiveness for the company Establish wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance management programs and employee benefit programs and services Establish strategic recruiting, interviewing, selection, hiring and onboarding practices and procedures; participates in the hiring of executive-level candidates Establish strategic training and organizational development plan to meet personal, professional and organizational goals Develop and oversee a strategic, forward-looking succession plan for key organizational talent Diversity & Inclusion: Develop strategies and practices to attract and support a diverse and inclusive workforce that understands, accepts and values differences between people and that is collaborative, supportive and respectful to maximize participation and contributions of employees Establish Human Resource metrics to provide quantitative measurements for department activities as well as productivity and employee-related issues throughout the workforce Responsible for oversight of global, multi-state payroll function including multiple payroll frequencies Working with executive management, shape the Heaven Hill company culture, ensuring that our values are understood and lived across the organization Serve as an active participant in monthly Executive Leadership Team meetings providing insight into human resource results and trends, contributing to strategic decision making, providing recommendations to leadership and guide efforts to support organizational change Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit/division or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues Serve as mentor, business partner and subject matter expert on HR matters Perform all other duties as assigned Essential Skills and Experience: Ability to bring immediate credibility to the human resources function through professional qualifications and leadership skills, projecting the highest level of integrity Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and Human Resource Information systems Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and government regulations Demonstrated ability to work in a unionized environment with strong experience in labor relations Possess integrity, ethics, professional credibility and accountability Model highly refined skills in attention to detail, critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, communication and leadership Excellent written and verbal communication skills Superior interpersonal/collaboration skills with the ability to work with others at all levels of the organization Knowledge and ability to build effective teams, encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members High proficiency using Excel as well as expertise in using software such as Word, PowerPoint and ERP systems (IFS) Ability to travel as required (Light travel requirements) Valued but not Required Skills and Experience: Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or related field Reporting to this Position:   Senior Human Resource Manager, Recruitment Manager, Payroll Manager, Payroll and Benefits Specialist, (2) Human Resource Generalists Physical Demands and Work Environment:  The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands: The work is performed in a business office setting in the United States and in offices in other company facilities. While performing duties of this job, employee must be able to see, walk, hear, speak, use computer, constant reaching with hands and arms. Work can be fast paced and stressful. Must be an excellent listener. Daily contact with management and co-workers; Regular contact with vendors and regulatory agencies. Travel is essential inside the U.S. and occasional travel to international locations.
