Harvard Business Publishing has a conventional governance structure comprising a Board of Directors, an internal Executive Committee, and Business Unit Directors.The Educational & Learning Product Development Group at Harvard Business Publishing is looking for a senior project editor who is hungry to help us develop a creative, impactful e-newsletter for business educators around the world. The right person for this role will be ready to roll up their sleeves and figure out what type of content and editorial approach will make our new e-newsletter fly off the proverbial shelves.This individual should have superb editorial and writing skills. And while the position covers topics related to business education and teaching, subject-matter expertise is not required; rather, the best candidate will have the curiosity and determination to push the envelope, experiment, and quickly understand what will make educators clamor for this e-newsletter in their inbox every week.The Senior Project Editor will primarily acquire, develop, and edit content for our weekly e-newsletter. But this individual will also help acquire and develop content for the new editorial section within the HBP Education website ().KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Spearhead the development of 3-4 editorial concepts for our new HBP Education newsletter Lead the content side of prototyping those concepts, alongside innovative UX, design, and marketing minds Gather, analyze, and synthesize user feedback on newsletter concepts, and iterate quickly based on that feedback Oversee the eventual launch of the e-newsletter to market, working closely with marketing and product management on a launch and delivery plan Continuously refine and improve e-newsletter content based on key learnings from marketing analytics and reader feedback Lead the ongoing creation of content for the e-newsletter, striving to hit key subscriber goals and aggressive acquisition and engagement metrics Identify emerging topics of importance to educators, seeking out thought leaders who are shaping these topics Work with"and challenge"educators to help them clarify, modify, and enrich their thinking Take an active role in ensuring that all published e-newsletter and website content is readable, provocative, accurate, and clear Work collaboratively with editors and others throughout HBP to help shape the editorial tone and direction of the HBP Education website and e-newsletterREQUIREMENTS: Creative intellect and sharp editorial instincts 10+ years of writing and editing experience Proven experience generating and developing story ideas and e-newsletter concepts Track record of collaborating with external content contributors, as well as producing original in-house content Understanding of critical measures of success for effective newsletters, including clickthrough/open rates and other engagement metrics Proven ability to experiment, innovate, and iterate based on user feedback Knowledge of business, management, and education topics and issues preferred Teaching experience a plus Sensitivity to user experience and smart design Excellent communication skills Bachelor's degree (master's degree a plus)Please submit relevant writing/editing samples as part of your application.
