About Garden Park Medical Center Garden Park Medical Center is a 130-bed acute care facility located at the intersection of I-10 and Hwy. 49 in Gulfport. The hospital provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services including 24-hour emergency room services. Garden Park Medical Center's STAR (Stress, Trauma, Addiction, Recovery) program is the only one of its kind in the Mississippi Bay area. Our nine-bed unit provides 24-hour care and treatment for active-duty military, veterans, first responders and their dependents with PTSD and addiction. Our board-certified clinical psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse practitioner both have military experience and specialized training in working with solders, veterans and first responders. They understand their behavioral health challenges and have helped hundreds of military families and individuals such as first responders that suffer related mental health challenges.
What you will do in this role: Holds shift accountability to provide direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Garden Park Medical Center, maintains clinical competencies through continuing education, and delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff. What qualifications you will need:
Education : Graduate from an accredited professional nurse program. Knowledge/Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications : Current MS or compact state RN license/permit; BCLS certification, CPI certification within 30 days Experience : At least 6 months nursing experience strongly preferred. Military, trauma, and psychiatric experience preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS - Must be able to climb, kneel, stoop and perform assigned duties under semi-stressful situations. Physical demands require performing heavy cleaning projects with short notice. Visual acuity is required in order to ensure that work is being done correctly. Work is moderately heavy with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighting up to 25 pounds. Work also involves considerable walking, standing, pushing and pulling of equipment and frequent lifting of patients.
