This fun, fast-moving, innovative group of highly skilled and motivated people is looking for candidates to support research and developmental efforts in producing fully-autonomous vehicles (SAE Level 4). The "Autonomous Vehicle Simulation Engineer" position entails using simulation to aid the development of all aspects of fully-autonomous vehicles operating in real-world scenarios, including: developing data sets to speed algorithm design, batch testing scenarios on cluster computers to validate performance, rapid-prototyping new sensors or methods, exploring interaction between automated vehicles and the world around them, and generating visualizations to convey concepts to diverse audiences. The engineer will interact with customers from all areas to develop solutions to their various needs. **Responsibilities:** + Maintain and develop simulation tools + Develop complex 3D virtual environments + Develop Unreal game engine modifications to implement advanced features + Develop training data sets for perception machine learning + Model and evaluate sensor types and positions (such as LIDAR, RADAR, and cameras) and calibration techniques + Automate scenario testing and validation process + Develop communication (ROS, TCP/UDP, shared memory) and noise testing techniques + Model behavior patterns for vehicles, pedestrians, etc. + Develop visualizations for presentation + Simulation in-the-loop with other algorithms, tools, hardware + Increasing performance of simulations. + Collaborate with a diverse group of team members in a wide range of disciplines including Perception, Robotics, Control Engineering, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Vehicle Dynamics, Localization, Routing, Mapping, Sensing, Software, etc. **Minimum Qualification:** + Master's Degree in in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields + Or bachelor's degree in in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields with 5+ years of experience. + 2+ years experience with programming in C++ 1+ year experience working with one or more gaming engines. + 1+ year experience with 2D/3D graphics algorithms. + 1+ year experience developing in a Linux, GitHub, bash or related environments **Preferred Qualification:** + Significant experience programming Unreal Engine using both C++ and Blueprints. + 1+ year experience with 3D content creation tools like 3DS Max, Blender, etc. + Knowledge of the internal architecture of Unreal Engine and its rendering pipeline + Experience using OpenCV or similar graphics toolkits + Significant experience with computer vision, 2D and 3D graphics, transformations, projections, image rendering, multi-camera geometry, coordinate frames. + Experience using Max, Blender, or similar for modelling, rigging, and animation + Experience with machine learning, deep learning, GANs, CNNs, and related techniques + Experience setting up inter-process communication using methods such as UDP, TCP/IP, ROS, and shared memory + Experience using/modeling sensing systems such as cameras, radar, lidar, GPS, IMUs, etc. + Experience with exchange formats such as OpenDrive, OpenScenario, and similar. + Experience with Docker + Experience with Python + Experience with working in team-based projects across multiple disciplines + Publications and Patents in related fields: AV/Robotics/CV/ML Join our team as we create tomorrow!
