Position performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy in a customer-owned 24/7 mission critical facility. Background requires general knowledge of the electrical trade; in general, the position requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.More specifically, the experience should include substantial work on various control systems. This should include experience in understanding, troubleshooting, & repairing power supplies, sensors, internal control components, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, and building control systems & networks.Principal Job Duties:•Maintenance, replacement, or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment;•Working from schematics, blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications•Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system, mechanical control systems or equipment•Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment,•Using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.•Comply with all key work processes required by the company (and customer) and documents any deficiencies while overseeing customer systems to ensure no impact to their daily mission•Perform and train others to perform plant operations in a safe, incident free, reliable manner while identifying opportunities to reduce costs, increase productivity, and most importantly, continually reduce the risk of accidents and injuries•Participate in job specific training, presentations, modules, qualification tests require to perform work and qualify for job skills and corporate policies & procedures•Perform various switching/isolation procedures to mitigate any unexpected operational issues or to prepare systems for maintenance activities by vendors or in-house O&M personnel•Provide timely assistance to plant operators and/or other O&M personnel when required•Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards•Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed; tasks range from effective use of building controls systems, discussion of system operations with Building Operators, preventative maintenance tasks to organization of a maintenance switching event for major equipment shutdown/isolation all to prevent impact to customer’s mission•Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies•Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job•Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality; Attendance is vital to the position to provide O&M coverage, and thus attendance is expected for all scheduled shifts despite external conditions (i.e. weather, etc.).•Position consists of a standard day-time work week coverage, Mon – Fri; flexible schedule is possible. Position requires on-call availability for after-hours emergencies at the 24/7 facility; primary response is performed by the Operations division, but this position might be required to report to assist.•Other duties as assignedJob Requirements:Experience working in commercial/industrial environments:•Minimum of a basic background in electrical equipment & distribution systems (120V to 480V); this should include proper training & use of PPE equipment for the systems being worked on (i.e. able to determine appropriate flame- and/or arc-resistant protection) and a journeyman’s electrician license•Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with controls systems•Ability to diagnose & troubleshoot controls systems related to various building systems•Job related technical knowledge necessary to work around commercial power & cooling systems; this should include knowledge of electrical systems such as panelboards, switchboards, generators, UPS systems, DC voltage systems, fire alarm systems, etc.; mechanical systems such as commercial closed-loop chilled water systems, pumps, boilers, air-handling units, fan coil units, etc.•Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to customer, management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors•Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner•Ability to use/develop troubleshooting techniques for various electrical/mechanical systems in both standard and high-stress situations (i.e. emergency response)•Already holds USG clearance•Must be able to perform standard maintenance/inspection tasks•Tasks will include physical labor; examples include working on ladders, ability to carry minimum 50lbs, retrieving stock items from warehouse via inventory database, use of PPE equipment for switching procedures, ability to obtain forklift/manlift operator’s license, etc.•Working conditions include various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to generally favorable indoor office workspace, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.Requisition ID: 43
