    The Technology function provides IT services to the Fidelity International business, globally. These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, compliance, finance, legal, marketing and customer service functions. The organisation incorporates Infrastructure services that the firm relies on to operate on a day to day basis including data centre, networks, proximity services, security, voice, incident management and remediation. Investment Management Technology provides systems development, implementation and support services for FILs global Investment Management division. We support Fund Managers, Research Analysts and Traders in all of FILs international locations, including London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Mumbai.

    Purpose of your role

    This role is split between both hands-on data analyst activities and leading the Charles River Data team, reporting directly to the Test Director. The team is half located in London and half located in India and is responsible for defining, building, testing, and implementing data changes required for Charles River BAU and CTB activities, as well as data forensics activities supporting the business in data completeness and data quality issues.

    Your Key Accountabilities

    Provide day to day functional guidance for the data team in both the UK and India.Mentor the data team and help to define and implement both team and individual goals.Play a significant role in motivating the data team to deliver value-added solutions.Ensure the team defines and implements repeatable best practices to guarantee deliverables are of the highest quality.Work closely with the business and business analysts to elicit, define and document data requirementsDefine detailed data requirements to the development and delivery teams to satisfy business data requirementsOwn the requirements definition, design and delivery of data requirements, end to endSupport the project team in implementation including data seeding, migration and validation analysisIdentify opportunity areas where existing processes can be improved and articulate associated data requirementsSupport the business in preparation of user test procedures and user acceptance testingProvide pre and post-implementation support to the systems and business teamsPrepare and handover operational procedures to systems and business teams and train as required.

    Essential skills

    Experience of working as a data analyst in a CRD programme in an Investment/Asset Management environmentAbility to understand a business process and translate it into data requirement in forms suitable for business and development consumptionMust be an expert in SQL and also using MS Office products like Visio and ExcelIn depth knowledge and experience and passion in the data spaceMust have the ability to understand and relate data quality, data lineage and metadataKnowledge of one or more standard market data products from providers like Bloomberg, Reuters etc.

    Desirable Skills

    A good understanding of the overall investment process (order management and trade life cycle) and its data needs of a buy-side investment firm.
