The Controls Engineer is responsible for researching, developing and implementing advanced manufacturing engineering standards and specifications for powertrain. The Engineer will be responsible to manage NBU, SBU and UAW team members.
The position requires familiarity with control hardware designs safety applications; PLC logic and HMI display development as well as with upper level ICT interfaces to plant floor PLCs.
The Control Specialist will manage and support the development of the specifications. Additionally, the Controls Specialist will be required to present and educate others regarding technical innovations and specifications rollout.
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
5 years of experience in manufacturing, controls engineering, maintenance or related field
7 years of experience in programming PLC/HMI/CNC and FANUC robot controllers
Lead the development and design of controls software and hardware for new equipment
Provide technical support and improve equipment for EMEC powertrain organization
Innovative thinker with excellent organizational skills
Microsoft Office Skills- PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access
Google Suites Skills- GMAIL, Drive, Slides, Sheets, Calendar
Some travel required
8 years of engineering experience with a strong background in PLC/HMI/CNC/PC programming
Background with FANUC, Siemens, Rockwell and Mitsubishi controls and robotics (FANUC)
Experience in machining and assembly operations as well as automation
Experience with AutoCAD
Strong and proficient understanding of the following computer programming languages: SQL, HTML, JAVA, Visual Basic and PLC Programming Siemens S7 and TIA and Rockwell ControlLogix
Self-directed and motivated to implement change within the direction and scope of FCA EMEC senior management
Project management experience leading a cross functional team including NBU, SBU and UAW work force
