Senior consultant to the Navy's Technical Director for Enterprise Information Systems providing technical advice across all aspects of Technical Strategy, Strategic Challenges, Industry Insights, and DON/DOD Integration. Engage with Flag Officers and SESs to develop enterprise-wide IT strategies that align across the Navy and DoD. Advise the TD on strategic initiatives and technical approaches that will best enable the DON to adopt modern information technologies. Work with senior Navy leaders to remedy regulatory and organizational roadblocks to technical progress. Stay abreast of DON-wide initiatives to ensure the TD remains focused on appropriate priorities. Serve as the TD?s representative on strategic efforts: advance initiatives, educate the community on technological capabilities, communicate strategic intent, remove barriers, gather information, conduct root cause analysis, and problem solve. Help develop and execute PEO, DON, and DOD-level IT and organizational strategy. Work across various organizations within the Navy to advance the state of enterprise IT i.e., Engineering, NMCI, Cloud Computing Office, Fleet Cyber Command, etc.. Consult with the private sector to help bring leading edge technology and industry best practices into the Navy?s IT domain. Qualifications:. Basic knowledge of the Navy?s business IT organization and construct. Working knowledge of IT technologies and industry best practices e.g., cloud computing, zero trust framework, networking, cybersecurity and data analytics. Minimum 5 years of experience. Adept at working with and briefing very senior DoD executives including Undersecretaries, General Officers, and SESs. Socially astute and professionally responsible to operate independently with little guidance. Ability to grasp concepts and logically follow conversations with little previous knowledge or understanding of the topic. Ability to see through a vast array of problems and identify root causes of issues, and then develop achievable courses of actions for resolution.. Ability to communicate complex ideas. Experience working with and leading teams that span large organizational and geographically disperse groups. Experience managing complex projects by demonstrating business acumen and political savvy. Excellent written and oral presentation skills for routine items such as weekly reports, strategy documents, and decision briefs to senior executives. Working with administrative staff to handle logistical requirements such as conference planning. Security clearance not required but a plus. PMP certification not required but a plus. Foundational cloud computing certification e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner or CompTIA Cloud+. BS in a technical area such as engineering or computer science, MS a plus.
