Job Announcement Zoning Evaluation Division Performs a variety of advanced zoning evaluation/administration functions. Serves as a primary contact for Site Development and Inspection Division (SDID) staff for zoning application information, implementation of approved proffers/development conditions and general application of Zoning Ordinance provisions during the site/subdivision plan and building plan review processes. Conducts periodic quality review and analysis of proffer compliance narratives. Provides review and input of draft proffers and development conditions during the zoning process to anticipate and minimize proffer compliance issues. Attends meetings, makes presentations, develops and conducts staff and industry training, writes detailed reports, and interprets data relating to land use, transportation, public facilities and environmental planning. Other duties include preparing written responses to inquiries through the proffer interpretation process and conducting research to prepare those determinations, providing feedback on other action assignments as required, and may include review and analysis of rezoning, special exception, special permit or variance requests on an as needed basis. Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a planning related field; plus four years of experience in a planning-related field, preferably in the specific area of assignment. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience. The years of experience should include a minimum of three years of experience in the specific area of assignment, e.g., zoning evaluation, zoning administration, zoning enforcement, public facility, environmental and/or land use planning. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least three years of experience in the specific area of assignment, e.g., zoning evaluation, zoning administration, zoning enforcement, public facility, environmental and/or land use planning. However, employee may be required to do some walking, standing, bending and carrying of items less than 15 pounds in weight. Work requires the ability to operate keyboard driven equipment.
