Please review the job details below. Maxar is currently seeking a Propulsion Production Engineer to support the most powerful multi-mission spacecraft in the world! You will support the building and testing of these spacecraft with a highly skilled manufacturing team, providing engineering direction to plan and coordinate production engineering processes on a daily basis to produce the highest quality chemical and electric propulsion systems. As a production engineer you will act as the liaison between design and manufacturing ensuring requirements are met. You will perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime on the production floor. You will also provide DFx support for the propulsion subsystem by develop process improvements and cost reduction initiatives to effectively utilize equipment and materials while maintaining high quality standards. This position will directly impact the next phase of human space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and reliable spacecraft production as we go to the moon and beyond! Responsibilities: Plan and coordinate production engineering processes on daily basis to produce high quality products. Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define propulsion component integration and test Define how to prepare hardware for test, integration, and flight Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing Define and support repair and rework activities Design, procure, install, and integrate custom manufacturing equipment, tools and tooling Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime. Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements. Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes. Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university (Master of Science preferred) Coursework, labs, and/or direct experience with the design, manufacturing, and test of spacecraft propulsion systems Strong engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing Experience in hardware manufacturing and product assembly Strong aptitude for mechanical system design and hands-on fabrication experience Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels of the organization including customers and prospective customers Minimum 5 years experience Preferred Qualifications: Aerospace/Launch vehicle experience Experience with safety critical systems Experience working with SCAPE (Self-Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble) MAXAR Technologies offers a generous compensation package including a competitive salary; choice of medical plan; dental, life, and disability insurance; a 401(K) plan with competitive company match; paid holidays and paid time off.
