  • Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team!     Responsibilities

    This position is the Director for Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. The incumbent reports directly to the MCAS Yuma Commanding Officer regarding Base activities / programs.

    The purpose of this position is to function as the Business and Operations advisor by providing guidance and decisions in the areas of: Retail, Food, Leisure, Hospitality, Services, Support, Semper Fit, and Marine & Family Programs. For the Base the incumbent is responsible for developing MCCS business strategies, ensuring policy and procedural compliance, measuring the organization's performance and correcting failing strategies. Develops MCCS strategies that are market driven and trending with the off base community in meeting customer needs. Responsible for all aspects of fiscal activities including the development and administration of an overall operating budget. Resolves internal and external operational problems not covered by established policies including the coordination and collaboration with other staff agencies. Plans, reviews, interprets, and implements policies established by higher authority. Resolves financial, personnel, and operational problems that impact on the effectiveness of MCCS programs. Sets priorities and establishes methods and time frames for accomplishment of MCCS projects. Serves as the communications point for MCCS policies, data collection, formulates metrics for reporting purposes, represents the MCCS organization to members of Congress, members of the community, other organizations, and other commands on matters concerning MCCS projects and programs.

    Serves as a subject matter expert and advisor to senior leaders both internal and external to the Base Command. Plans, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Oversees preparation and approves financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budgets (NAF & APF) on assigned activities. Oversees management of new property resources and may provide direction on facility renovations and improvements. Develops long range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives, and exercises internal personnel management authorities.

    Serves on the Base emergency planning / response exercises, Mission Essential Tasks List execution, develops and enforces strategic plans, develops the best course of actions for execution / support of CO mission priorities.

    Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs. Oversees maintenance and enforcement of the security of resources and develops procedures to minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

    Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishap. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with "Return to Work" program initiatives, and following up on employee well-being.

    This is an exempt position and incumbent must be willing and able to work hours as required to accomplish the mission. Extensive travel will be required by the incumbent at times. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

    EVALUATIONS:

    Qualifications

    A minimum of five years of executive-level experience that demonstrates possession of management principles in planning, coordinating, and attaining the goals and financial objectives of a large customer-oriented organization; a thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles and ability to analyze trends/developments and make improvements in operating programs through innovative marketing, personnel management, and resource management. Must possess above average oral and written communication skills and ability to deal with individuals on different levels such as Congressman, high-ranking military officers, etc. A four-year degree from an accredited college / university and knowledge of Marine Corps staff procedures and organization are highly desirable.

    Must file and initial an annual Confidential Financial Disclosure report (OGE form 450).

    Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
