The Director/Senior Director of Diligence and Integration is responsible for directing the strategic planning and management of diligence and integration project teams for small- to mid-size acquisitions, providing leadership and mentoring to project management staff, overseeing and coordinating the integration work plans across multiple geographies and ensuring that diligence and integration activities are complete within assigned time frames. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Growth & Development with direct support to the corporate development team.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Leads teams across multiple geographies responsible for due diligence and integration efforts for multiple physician practice acquisitions simultaneously across multiple regions or states
  • Owns the entire diligence process engaging both internal and external stakeholders
  • Serves as primary point of contact with seller for all preliminary and confirmatory due diligence information
  • Serves as a super user for the virtual / electronic data room (VDR) utilized in the diligence process, organizing and maintaining all diligence materials and access
  • Works with subject-matter experts (SMEs) for review of due diligence materials and summaries


  • Ensures alignment between M&A Corporate Development and integration teams on key deal terms to ensure feasibility of integration
  • Develops the operating model for partnering with a cross-functional team of high performing SMEs to develop, organize, and communicate integration plans to appropriate parties, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition
  • Tracks progress and ensure cross-functional teams strictly adhere to agreed-upon project plans and timelines


  • Develops and deploys the communication plan for disseminating diligence information to cross-functional diligence and integration teams
  • Ensures best practices for presenting diligence and integration updates, risks and opportunities to senior executive leadership, and escalate issues for quick resolution when needed
  • Effectively communicates acquisition / transition process to executive leadership, targets and operations team
  • Provides tailored weekly and monthly reporting of project pipeline and status to various stakeholders
  • Builds, cultivates, and maintains strong relationships with senior executive sponsors, key contacts across the organization, and with target companies / sellers
  • Skilled in engaging others in forward thinking dialogue, facilitating consensus and obtaining buy-in of senior leadership

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization leading cross-functional teams to support diligence and integration initiatives
  • Identify and resolve problems, recognizing when assistance is needed, and seek help / input from teammates, supervisors, and appropriate leadership
  • Supportive and offers assistance to other managers and teammates; must possess the willingness to help others
  • Willingness to lead vital ad-hoc projects related to business development initiatives
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team
  • Self-starter with ability to think, work, and problem solve with limited direction; resourceful
  • Processes complex information from a variety of sources, evaluates data, and recommends action plans

Secondary Functions:

Specific Job Skills and Experience:

7-12 years experience in medical group operations, healthcare consulting, project management, or related field

5 + yearss of experience directly supervising and leading a team

M&A due diligence and integration experience required

Experience working effectively in a corporate, matrixed environment with multiple internal stakeholders


Bachelors degree in Business, Operations Management, Healthcare Management, Project Management, or related field

MBA and/or PMP a plus, but not required

Job Conditions:

Ability to travel (up to 20% of the time) to coordinate deal kick-off with target and diligence visits
