In this position, you support the eMobility Group with expertise leading vehicle-side charging system development at DTNA. This is an emerging, exciting technology, and the right person will drive DTNA’s success by helping our engineering department, customers and network adopt the new vehicles into their operations.





Responsibilities
- Lead technical development and strategy for advanced on-vehicle DC charging systems.

- Develop charging solutions that allow for fast charging that meetings customer needs and use cases.

- Work with suppliers to implement on-vehicle charging systems, including DC boxes, vehicle communication, and controls.

- Lead future strategy, concepts, and innovation for next generation advanced charging systems, including strategies for very high power charging up to 3MW.

- Implement charging systems into prototype and production vehicles, collaboration with other teams to integrate.

- Develop bi-directional charging solutions that allow for charging of the vehicle, OR Lead DTNA technical representative on various electric vehicle charging committes, including CharIN, ISO, SAE, IEC, and IEEE.

- Lead direction and implementation of various charging and connector standards, including CCS1, CCS2, etc; and develop

- Develop and implement charging communication (ISO 15118), and work with other engineering and PVE to ensure interoperability.

- DTNA technical representation on global committees, and interface with charging infrastructure team to ensure seamless and cohesive solutions for our customers.

- Deliver technical guidance and prompt response to internal/external customers with issues or inquiries pertaining to charging systems.

- Provide input into the creation of global Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) document in all areas related to charging systems.

- Lead engineering efforts with vehicle production team to resolve manufacturing process issues.

- Stay current on technological developments and generate new ideas and methods for vehicle design optimizations, systems and processes.

- Coordinate efforts with internal/external partners such as colleagues in Europe, Detroit, Japan, and various suppliers.

- Broaden your expertise outside of your immediate responsibilities and become an expert in eMobility topics.



Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Electrical, Power Systems, or related Engineering field from an accredited college/university and 6+ years of related experience required

- An attached resume is required

- Strong t echnical proficiency on commercial vehicle design with a focus on electrical or power systems required.

- Minimum 2 years of experience designing HV electric vehicle charging systems above 200V preferred

- Experience with vehicle charging station communication protocols and software required.

- Experience with DC charging box design and integration into the vehicle preferred.

- Experience with DFMEA & Functional Safety for automotive electronics products preferred.

- Must be well-organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks, and work professionally with various levels of management required.

- Excellent self-management and leadership skills required.

- Moderate travel (~20%), especially initially required.

- Detail oriented, reliable, self-motivated, and ability work with independently with minimal supervision required.

- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements required.

- Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change required.
