A CYF Caseworker assists children, youth and families in attaining a more satisfactory social, economic or physical adjustment in every day life.Allegheny County has a complete benefit package.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (1 Hour Lunch)Schedules vary. Travel is required.

CYF Caseworkers provide protective and supportive services for abused/neglected children and families and depending upon assignment, provides counseling services to children, families, foster parents and/or adoptive parents. The Caseworker also participates in Conferencing and Teaming to help families with their plan goals including safety and self-sufficiency, participates in crisis intervention where appropriate, presents case facts and testimony in Children's Court.New CYF Caseworkers work under the general supervision of a Casework Supervisor for a six-month probation period and complete a ten-week curriculum consisting of both classroom and field work. New Caseworkers are responsible for working with a family from the point the family is referred to DHS/CYF until they are no longer involved with the agency.
