**Depending on the volume of applications, this position may close to external applicants before the job posting end date expires.** Job Posting Start Date: 11/13/2019 Job Posting End Date: 11/19/2019 11:59pm **Summary:** To establish and maintain a skilled and trained staff to construct and maintain substations equipment, controls, protection and metering in a safe and efficient manner. **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET approved program; two (2) years' transmission or distribution engineering experience; + At least two (2) years' supervisory experience; or high school diploma with two years technical training; seven (7) years' experience in either system protection or apparatus maintenance; at least two (2) years' supervisory experience. **Grade:** GR007 **Principal Accountabilities:** Direct subordinates in performance of maintenance responsibilities. Develop maintenance programs and schedules including weekly and annual maintenance schedules and multi-year maintenance policy. Change schedules as needed to meet daily requirements. Review test results to ensure compliance with Standards. Establish procedures for maintenance record keeping and create record keeping forms. Ensure maintenance of coordination and test files. Procure maintenance spare parts and materials, substation, relay, meter tools and test equipment, and related lab equipment. Provide warehousing and inventory. Manage expense projects, providing technical support, supervision and administrative support. Coordinate departmental activities with other departments and interconnected groups including scheduling of substation maintenance, installation of equipment, switching, testing procedures and relay and meter calibrations. Recommend personnel and equipment for future requirements. Evaluate system and equipment operation, maintenance and performance to develop alternatives for reliable, cost effective improvements. Assist with final testing and checkout of substation facilities prior to energization. Prepare substation operating procedures. Prepare test procedures/specifications for equipment. Schedule and conduct regular safety meetings. Monitor Near Miss accident program and ensure safety program records are maintained for employees of the Maintenance Section. Conduct visual inspections of substations, substations equipment and transmission lines. Commit to and follow the Cleco Vision Statement and Values.
