Armstrong Flooring, Inc. (AFI) has a job opportunity for a VP Commercial National Accounts to be located in X. This position is accountable for strategic account sales leadership and Channel Management for our Commercial National Account Sales team. This position is responsible for the sales strategies that result in achieving sales growth, financial targets and the business objectives for our Commercial National Accounts. This will be attained through the development of their team and successful relationships with these key accounts. He or she will also be an integral part of the sales leadership team.
How youll contribute to the team:
Develop, lead and execute strategic and annual sales plan to drive sales in the segment.
Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with key customers
Partner with Channel and Product Marketing to develop programs that deliver opportunities
Recruit, hire, coach and develop an organization w/the skills to achieve the business objectives - sales volume, market share, quality specifications, design solutions, brand preference, price targets, and mix objectives
Integrate an effective cross-functional team approach
Create and implement strategies to influence flooring selections made by End-Users in Key National Accounts on major new construction and renovation projects
Effectively interact with marketing/supply chain/manufacturing/innovation/customer service to assure availability of products and programs required to create superior customer value and competitive advantage.
Winning Team:
Direct reporting responsibility of Five (5) Commercial National Account Managers across North America
Responsible for creating a winning team including hiring talent, assessing current talent, and succession planning through training, development and the talent review process.
Develop and implement a Sales organization structure to ensure effective coverage of key customers
Sales Processes:
Become highly visible through travel to develop high-level relationships with key accounts, make strategic presentations and support the team by driving new business to close.
Collaborate with Sales Operations (SO) in the development of sales force effectiveness and productivity including planning, reporting, budget setting, forecasting, sales process optimization and training.
Work closely with SO to analyze sales and financial metrics, adjust strategies and processes to optimize effectiveness, create plan-driven selling
Manage the selling, field promotions, and customer program expenses to agreed budgets.
Lead a robust Sales forecasting process to provide accuracy to the business.
Provide market and customer input as the sales expert to other business functions
Extensive travel expected, approximately 50%
What you'll bring to the table:
Bachelor's Degree with 10 or more years of experience calling on National Account Customers with the most recent 5 years being in a sales leadership role.
Demonstrated ability to achieve business results
Technical skills in strategic planning, solution selling and sales planning
Strong customer orientation with large National Account Customers
Expertise in business development and project management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
Excellent business acumen - able to gather market competitive intel, translate it into actions, opportunities and forecasting
Well be excited if you have:
