Wealth Specialist

Demonstrates full knowledge in assigned area and is an experienced sole contributor. Partners with the Investment Counselor (IC) on sales efforts and relationship maintenance by providing recommendations based on customized wealth analyses for clients within Private Client Services (PCS). Responsible for accurate and compliant assessment of assets, conducting specialized research, and creating individualized recommendations for wealth planning, accumulation and distribution. Conducts wealth strategy research and educates ICs and clients on findings.

Primary responsibilities/essential functions:

  • Recommends strategy based on customized wealth strategy analyses (WSAs) for current and prospective clients. 
  • Meets with IC to understand facts and circumstances of current/prospective client’s wealth cycle (i.e., existing asset/account details, spending needs, tax situation, risk tolerance, goals, time horizon).
  • Leverages deep knowledge of asset allocation, modern portfolio theory, internal research, and quantitative analysis modeling to create individual client recommendations based on their objectives and current situation.
  • Collaborates with and makes recommendations to IC in iterative reviews of WSA.
  • May apply specific tax, retirement and estate planning principles to final recommendation.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and active participant in client meetings with Investment Counselors to discuss and advise on asset allocation and wealth planning.
  • Conducts wealth strategy research and analysis. 
  • Provides timely, relevant financial industry research to ICs to meet business needs and to stay abreast of marketplace issues and trends.
  • Informs IC’s of research findings and recommendations.
  • Supports prospecting and sales efforts through identifying opportunities to provide solutions including, but not limited to, planning techniques, asset allocation recommendations and implementation.
  • Attends seminars/courses to remain current on industry knowledge and practices.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of confidentiality and privacy expectations and control.
  • Demonstrates ability to influence groups and/or senior business leaders on strategic business matters.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving matters of very high complexity.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity, ambiguity and diversity; has ability to think strategically and creatively as it relates to meeting client needs
  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates, senior business leaders and a diverse group of individuals outside the organization.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside and outside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead and manage projects within the team.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the appropriate uses and relevant advantages or disadvantages of various investment vehicle structures and the investment strategies and instruments that can be used within each vehicle structure, and the ability to apply it to work assignments.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of financial industry, fiduciary practices, the investment advisory and wealth planning business, and the ability to apply it to work assignments. Exhibits knowledge in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the department/business area.
  • Desirable Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as CFA, CPA, CFP, CPWA
