Boeing, Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in El Segundo, California, is seeking a Senior Manager to help our customers invent the future! Your responsibilities include developing, leading teams, and supporting new business capture campaigns. Markets addressed are increasingly broad in nature, with space based sensors, advanced communications, mission management and data processing, ground command and control systems, and proprietary customer solutions. This role involves integrating numerous engineering disciplines with sales and marketing focusing on space systems. Key to success in this role is a comprehensive understanding of satellite systems capabilities, the design, development, and operations of systems, along with United States Government (USG) mission areas


  • Research, review and analyze information about competitors' products and services to develop a detailed understanding of specific competitor activities and their impact on market positioning to improve our competitive position.
  • Manage and provide guidance to campaign technical leads and teams in execution of business capture strategy
  • Lead assigned sales and campaign activities by contributing to the development of strategies for capturing new proprietary business for Government Satellite Systems with minimal guidance.
  • Capture and document specific campaign information related to customer business needs, culture, requirements, and economic and environmental influences by researching available resources, web-sites and publications.
  • Assist in the interface with the customer and internal Boeing resources to keep both apprised of key issues and concerns.
  • Assist in the development of customer solutions by performing analysis of customer needs and available resources.
  • Formulate requirements for both Boeing and Industry products and knowledge into recommendations to meet customer needs.
  • Assist in the maintenance and advancement of customer relationships by supporting customer meetings and preparation of presentation materials.
  • Support preparation of proposals by developing themes and discriminators and reviewing the statement of work, cost estimates, executive summary and pricing to ensure customer requirements are met and to improve our competitive position.
  • Monitor proposal status to ensure timely responses. Reviews and contributes to the final draft materials.
  • This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance or a Top Secret Clearance with a current SSBI investigation. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 or more years of comprehensive knowledge of either DoD, National Systems, NASA needs, and competitive environment.
  • 10 or more years of experience leading competitive teams in organizing, executing, and gaining executive approvals.
  • 5 or more years of experience preparing and delivering presentations or proposals to executive level management, clients, or military seniors
  • Experience leading either competitive proposal efforts or studies to include organizing, executing and gaining executive approvals
  • Experience leading and partnering with cross-functional teams, involving key stakeholder relationship management
  • Experience with the DOD budgeting and acquisition process
  • A current and active Top Secret/SSBI/ SCI is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors of science in technical field or equivalent military experience
  • MBA
  • 10+ years ofexperience in Aerospace Industry
  • TS/SCI
