Position Objective :  This local privately owned company is looking for a skilled Financial Controller. This will lead and direct all the routine functions of the Accounting department, maintaining high standards of accuracy, and intuitive thinker that has a business mindset of operational efficiency and profitability. Must have a strong background in Construction Job Costing. Reporting Structure : Director of Operations Direct Report : Sr. Accountant Salary Range: $75k to $100k, with Free Benefits... Essential Minimum Job Requirements Self-Motivated Leader with Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Strong Systems and Process Aptitude Strong analytical and problem-solving skills A continual mindset of personal and team development Experience in engaging and managing an outside audit, plus other financial consultants Ability to summarize and clearly present financial results Perform accurate, consistent accounts reconciliations, such as cash, debit, fixed assets Cash Flow Modeling/Management Budgeting and Forecasting Manage the bidding process, or job budgets, tracking and updating in Computer Ease Ability to roll forward activities related to % complete, overbilled/underbilled, equity Minimum understanding of HR cycle and payroll processing Ability to perform and train on all aspects of the Accounting Department Develop and Maintain Accounting procedure SOP’s Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance Preferred Minimum of 5 years of Accounting Experience preferred performing required job functions Pre-Employment Results of Intermediate or Advanced Excel Skills Required The ideal candidate would have Construction Accounting ComputerEase by not required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Duties / Responsibilities Oversees the daily activities workflow of the Accounting department Provide daily and/or weekly analysis and reporting on operational performance Prepare monthly financial statements and reconcile the job costing for various projects Monitor and resolve accounting issues that could impact accuracy and profitability Respond to request for information and analysis from Field Superintendents\ Strong ability to multi-task and take on temporary projects outside normal accounting duties Ability to perform and train on all aspects of the Accounting Department Can-do mindset and relentless pursuit toward accuracy Operational Results Consistent in Leadership and Positive Mindset Constant focus on maintaining high staff retention rates compared to the industry average Knowledgeable of and capable of utilizing all available tools, technology, and other resources to achieve the desired result in the most cost-effective and time-efficient manner.
