A Papalote Yard Man is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of the grounds of the Papalote Ranch. This includes maintaining a safe, clean environment for the entire property including but not limited to the buildings, homes, barns, and other structures. This role is part of the Papalote Ranch team.
A Yard Man can be expected to perform the following tasks in this role as a routine part of their job:
Maintains, repairs, and cleans properties including but not limited to the buildings, homes, barns, grounds, landscape, and equipment. Performs general maintenance, repair, and painting of equipment, fences, and buildings. Assists with the pickup and disposal of all debris, junk, litter and clutter left on grounds. Assists with the care of trees, shrubs by watering, fertilizing, mulching gravel and dirt as required. Operates and maintains equipment and vehicles. Repairs and maintains corral and pasture fences, pens, etc. Work with animals to include daily care, feeding, watering, medicate and wash. Cleans and organizes stalls, barns, equipment and grounds. Adheres to all applicable regulations and guidelines during course of daily work. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc. Performs other ranch-related duties as required.

A qualified candidate for the Ranch Hand role should satisfy the expectations below:
REQUIRED Valid, Current Texas Driver’s License Ability to Work Outside Year-Round Including Inclement Weather Good Communication Skills
PREFERRED High School Graduate or Equivalent Certificate Previous Experience Custodial, Ranch Hand and/or Experience Working with Animals and Grounds-keeping
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to pull/push a load up to 50 lbs. Must tolerate working in an environment with inside/outside ambient/extreme temperatures. Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday. Continual walking on uneven surfaces, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Ability to operate varied equipment and machinery. Ability to speak, hear, and see is required to communicate with employees, and to operate varied equipment, machinery, and cleaning products. Ability to perform job functions in compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety policies and best practices. Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
