AGL is a rapidly-growing, diverse team, operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.RoleIn this role you will be defining the vision for our Data Science team that supports how Sellers and Amazon manage fulfillment globally. You will own developing and executing against a multi-year roadmap, leveraging data and insights from our Sellers and inventing new technology to deliver innovations which help Sellers grow and expand their business on Amazon. The successful candidate will bring strong business judgement, a track record of developing and implementing new ideas and in managing and developing Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Business Analysts.You will partner with other leaders to help them find and understand the meaningful data to help make the best business decisions every day. The work will span designing new data architectures, driving insight from analyses, experimentation, building hands-off-the-wheel cutting machine learning solutions, and managing a fantastic team! In this process, you will also partner with regional teams throughout the world.Responsibilities- Identify and measure product and business metrics to drive improvements and better understand our Customer s and Seller s needs- Collaborate with business leaders and peer researchers on innovative hypothesis-driven research projects and a corresponding analytics roadmap to inform business actions.- Collaborate with other data and research scientists to build measurement plans/scalable research studies for assessing the impact of treatment/interventions on critical business KPI s worldwide.- Be a thought leader: Conceptualize and lead global research initiatives, understand drivers, impacts, and key influences on cost and pricing dynamics.- Bring deep knowledge of quantitative modelling (ML, optimization, causal modeling) to build econometric models, prototype, and guide the technical approach of production scalable implementations in partnership with technical teams.- Explain complex technical approaches to a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership, development teams and cross-functional experts. Develop new techniques to process large data sets, address quantitative problems, and contribute to design of automated systems around the organization.- Establish scalable, efficient, automated, and easily repeated processes for large scale data analyses.- Build and maintain strong partnerships across the businessBasic qualifications 10+ years building and leading business intelligence teams; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and post-graduate degree History of building strong collaborative relationships and influencing peers and executive-level stakeholders with data, research and compelling narrative content; able to present and clearly communicate complex data, analyses, and findings to non-experts Experience creating and influencing data governance strategies, goals, and objectives Success managing multiple projects with competing priorities in a highly matrixed environment Strong data analytics experience on large scale complicated datasets; experience with relevant technologies and of enterprise class systems implementations, such as data warehouses, ETL automation, BI visualization suites, and cloud-based data managementPreferred qualification Graduate degree in industrial engineering, neuroscience, statistics, physics, mathematics, data science or closely related field. Experience working on cloud based computing services such as (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure). Advanced proficiency with Python quantitative computing libraries to apply statistical techniques such as structural equation modeling, survival analysis, social network analysis, and/or cluster analysis Experience leveraging extensible programming languages (e.g. Python) and advanced analytic techniques (ML, NLP) to drive and scale enterprise-wide insights Proficiency with multiple statistical software packages (e.g. R, SAS, SPSS, STATA)
