AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Archaeological Field Technician for immediate employment.
The responsabilities include but are not limited to:
Performs routine fieldwork as a trainee (such as environmental sampling, assisting with calculations, and operations, maintenance and inspection of equipment of client site), working under close supervision
Performs routine tasks in support of project staff and handles less complex duties
Entry-level position; may not require previous experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge and understanding of equipment and technology used to perform recording of artifacts and archaeological surveys
Knowledge of basic field excavation techniques, ability to process (wash, catalog and mark) recovered archaeological artifacts, and properly fill out field and laboratory forms, perform extensive manual labor including excavation with shovels and moving buckets and wheelbarrows filled with dirt.
Position requires flexibility to travel overnight and out of state for up to 3+ months at a time.
Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/ clients are security sensitive.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, moisture, and dryness; position requires frequent repetitive bending & stooping, standing/walking, operation of vehicles, and lifting of less than 25 pounds; occasionally working with arms above shoulder level, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), working at heights, and performing repetitive or fine hand movements; rarely climbing stairs, working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment, performing work in confined spaces, performing keyboard/mouse operations, working alone in isolated/remote areas, and lifting 25 - 75 pounds. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment, including safety glasses/goggles, gloves, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, long-sleeve shirts, and tick guards
