Our client offers the following benefits:$230,000 starting annual salary, based on experienceDental, Health & Life Insurance10 paid holidays & 12 sick days a yearPTO - After year one, 20 days, and after year two, 42 days.Relocation assistance availableLong-term disabilityRetirement plan availableEmployer pays state Medical Board license fees & membership duesLoan repayment available through NHSCPhysician / Psychiatry / OutpatientJob ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Psychiatrist will serve as a member of the Center's service delivery team providing psychiatric care services through assessment and treatment, if indicated. This is to include a full-range of psychiatry services, which may include evaluations, medication management, crisis services, and therapy. Additional responsibilities for the Psychiatrist include but are not limited to:Normal working hours, 8am-5pmOn Call - anticipate on-call scheduling one weekend a monthResponsible for medical/psychiatric care of consumers to whom they are assigned as attending Psychiatrist. For those consumers needing psychotropic drug treatment, the Psychiatrist will explain to the consumer or to the parent/guardian of a minor the application (to include rationale for medication); possible side effects of medications, early warning signs of relapse, possible consequences of non-adherence and non-compliance of psychotropic drugs in the consumer's treatment, and explains that these drugs may be used to treat or prevent the recurrence of the symptoms of mental illness.When prescribing psychotropic medication, the rationale for use of each medication will be based on the Psychiatrist's diagnosis of a consumer's illness or other documents in the mental health record indicating the target symptoms to be treated. The documented information constitutes the basis for which prescribing decisions are made, if psychotropic medications are to be used. The Psychiatrist prescribing and/or continuing to prescribe psychotropic medications reviews the consumer's condition at frequent intervals to document continued compliance, symptoms, side effects, and adjusts medications when appropriate. The documentation should include on-going substantiation of the individual's diagnosis, and justification of the need for continuing treatment.
