We have an exciting opportunity available in the Translational Imaging group for a Principal Research Scientist II/ Senior Principal Research Scientist (dependent on experience) to provide molecular imaging expertise for key projects in the neuroscience area, and if suitably experienced lead the clinical application of imaging methodologies more broadly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide neuroimaging biomarker support, with a focus on the use of molecular imaging in neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Lead the clinical application of imaging methodologies, PET and MRI, to support the development of novel medicines.
  • May manage clinical imaging scientists, including those supporting other therapeutic areas.
  • Provide drug development teams with advice and guidance concerning the appropriateness, feasibility, limitations and benefits of applying imaging in various scenarios.
  • Proactively propose studies and other imaging approaches where they may add value to drug development.
  • Work with peers in translational imaging and other functions to develop optimal imaging strategies for key areas of focus.
  • Ensure quality of projects involving clinical imaging.
  • Contribute to the operational excellence of molecular imaging studies.

Position will be hired based on level of experience.
  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in a science related field with typically 16-18+ (BS), 14-16+ (MS) or 8-10+ (PhD) years of experience developing and executing molecular imaging studies; pharmaceutical industry setting preferred.
  • Direct experience of applying molecular imaging in a neuroscience drug development context, including executing multicentre molecular imaging studies (additional experience in other therapeutic areas is also desirable).
  • Experience providing expert advice to cross-functional teams developing novel therapeutics.
  • Deep understanding of the overall drug development process, including regulations related to the use of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Line management experience, or proven experience managing without direct authority e.g. leading matrix teams, etc.
