Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations or designee for the Office of Advancement of the UMass Medical School and UMass Memorial Health Care, Inc., the Project Coordinator will assist in various activities to support the function of the Corporate and Foundations Relations group. The Project Coordinator will work with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations or designee to produce a weekly digest of funding opportunities, carry out prospect research, prepare briefs and profiles for institutional events, provide background information to Donor Relations and others in the office, and assist as needed for various campus and institutional events. Projects may include information gathering, data analysis, project management schedule maintenance, budgeting assistance and project coordination in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Source and track foundation opportunities; prepare biweekly email for distribution; maintain distribution list
  • Provide information for proposals for entry into the CRM software
  • Use standard screening tools to identify foundations and corporations, documenting findings in CRM software
  • Qualify and screen foundations for future activity, tracking information in CRM software
  • Identify through research, foundation contacts and provide contact information to CRM system
  • Prepare and update profiles and briefs for institutional events such as Winter Ball, Cancer Walk and for various individual meetings
  • Provide background information to Donor Relations for donor communications
  • Assist with on-campus foundation and corporation visits
  • Organize and plan work activities for review with appropriate senior staff
  • Implement and manage tasks in accordance with departmental objectives
  • Participate as a member of project teams across various functions in the Office of Advancement
  • Assist senior staff with project development activities including compiling data, drafting reports, and assisting as needed
  • Maintain project files and support materials
  • Draft and review routine correspondence, communications, and other background materials
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor s degree or relevant experience
  • 2 years experience coordinating and planning projects
  • Ability to work in a team and meet performance deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to interact with donors and staff
  • Demonstrated experience in using computer-based applications including word processing, electronic mail, spreadsheet and database products
