Job Description
Title: Counsel, North America
Reports To: Assistant General Counsel, North America
Location: Richmond, VA
POSITION SUMMARY: Indivior, a global specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to pioneering life-transforming treatments in the field of addiction, is seeking a Counsel for its North America Area Business based in Richmond, VA. This position will be responsible for providing regulatory, contracting and general legal support to the commercial organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Serve as lead counsel for one or more pharmaceutical brands and legal reviewer for advertising and promotional materials;
* Advise clients on a broad array of issues relating to the advertising and promotion of prescription pharmaceutical drug products including, but not limited to, the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, FDA advertising & promotional regulations, the Anti-Kickback Statute, the False Claims Act, OIG Guidance, the PhRMA Code and the Sunshine Act;
* Review, analyze and provide practical legal advice on matters related to reimbursement activities, access services, patient support and assistance programs;
* Provide legal advice to support the successful launch of new products and have daily interaction with the U.S. based sales, marketing, medical affairs, and regulatory affairs departments, and other global affiliates as required;
* Draft, review and negotiate a variety of contracts including, but not limited to, master service agreements, consulting agreements, and market research agreements;
* Provide input on corporate policies and support Corporate Compliance with same; and
* Assist with general corporate matters and perform special assignments with minimal supervision as directed by Assistant General Counsel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Juris Doctor
Experience:
* 1-3 years of experience, preferably in-house at a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or other life sciences company, or in the life sciences practice group of a law firm;
* Working knowledge of FDA regulations within the pharmaceutical industry required;
* Experience reviewing labeling and marketing materials for prescription drug products for compliance with applicable laws;
* Experience drafting and negotiating contracts;
Other: Active bar membership in good standing in at least one State (subsequent admission in VA as corporate counsel is a condition of employment)
TRAVEL:
* Approximately 5%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Inhouse pharmaceutical experience preferred
* Experience working with advertising or promotional materials
