We are seeking an experienced Research Scientist I (Analytical Chemistry) for our Safety Assessment site located in Shrewsbury, MA.
The Research Scientist 1 (Analytical Chemistry) will provide scientific support for nonclinical research or laboratory-based studies; perform basic study management tasks and interpretation and reporting of study data/conclusions. This person will also oversee routine study start-up procedures requiring cross-departmental interaction with all key study personnel. They will support assay development, assay transfer, assay validation, and study execution, and is involved in data review and acceptance (i.e. - small molecule, protein, nucleic acid, etc.) emphasizing HPLC and A280 assays.
The following are minimum requirements related to the Research Scientist 1 (Analytical Chemistry) position:
* Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent in a scientific related discipline.
* Minimum 6 years related experience in chemistry/pharmacy, or similar laboratory environment, including 1-year related experience in the contract research or pharmaceutical industry in an analytical development role.
* Experience with A280 assays and use of SoftMax Pro software is a plus.
* Dose formulation analysis procedures and stability experience preferred but not required.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in the use of standard software including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and with standard laboratory calculations.
